Don Smith is the founder, owner, and coach of a private youth football organization Texas Epic 7v7. He works closely with schools in the Dallas Fort Worth area including Southlake Carroll ISD. On LinkedIn, he states that he works with quarterbacks all over the country, including Matthew Stafford, Graham Harrell and Clark Harrell. He also coaches girls flag football.
Over the last few months, I’ve had several people contact me with concerns about Don Smith. I have received documentation of Smith’s criminal history. Don pled guilty in August 2007 in Collin County to assault causing bodily injury and domestic violence. In Kaufman County on July 18, 2013, Don Smith pled guilty to assault by contact-family violence. He was also convicted of a felony of a forgery related offense on May 17, 2002.
In 2000, Don Smith, along with another man, Timothy Michael Shirey, was arrested in a Wells Fargo Bank robbery in Texas. I’m told that he served time in a federal prison for the robbery.
Don Smith has recently moved to Missouri to expand Epic 7v7 there. He still returns to Texas to work. As evidenced on social media, Smith’s TX. Epic 7v7 is associated with school districts in the DFW area. He is seen regularly in social media postings working with kids in the program.
