I received messages of concern about a social studies teacher at Newman Smith High School in the Carrollton Farmers Branch Independent School District. Reportedly, Katherine Roberts has not been at work teaching at Newman Smith HS for about 3 weeks. I’m told that students have been reporting Katherine Roberts for inappropriate conduct in the classroom for at least the past 2 years. I was asked to look into this issue, because no communication has been sent from the school district.
I checked Katherine Roberts’ teaching certificate on the Texas Education Agency site. It does show that she is currently under investigation by the TEA for an allegation of misconduct.
