Preston Trail Community Church is a church in Frisco, Texas. A few months ago, concerned members discovered that the church hired Kiave Glover, who has a prior domestic violence arrest, to work with students in the youth ministry. When these members brought their concerns to church leadership, they were told to “trust us,” and that they were done discussing it “for the sake of unity.” Church leadership told these concerned members that “any objective observer would agree” with their decision to hire Kiave Glover.

Preston Trail Community Church senior pastors are Paul Basden and Jim Johnson. To the knowledge of the concerned, now former church members, parents have never been informed of Glover’s history. Glover was hired as a resident intern working with middle and high school students.
Court records show that Kiave Glover was arrested on December 18, 2022 for assault causing bodily injury to a family member. An emergency protective order was issued. Based on the police report, it seems that his then wife, the victim, decided not to move forward with charges. Despite the urging of the concerned church members, Preston Trail leadership never contacted the victim. When these members approached the church about Kiave’s arrest, church leaders said that they already knew about his arrest. It had shown up on a background check. They proceeded with hiring Kiave Glover anyway.

In July 2025, a former Preston Trail Community Church pastor, Jim Mustain, was indicted on charges of possession of child sexual abuse material. Jim Mustain previously worked at Preston Trail church from 2019 until 2023.
An arrest affidavit states Mustain’s then-wife reported in 2023 that he had inappropriate images of children, mostly girls ages 6 to 10, on his iPad. The case was initially closed but reopened after a new report in November 2024. Lewisville Independent School District confirmed that Mustain had volunteered with student groups at Durham Middle School and Creekside Elementary.
