Fort Worth pastor resigns due to confession of “moral failure”

David Daniels was recently asked to resign as lead pastor of Central Bible Church in Fort Worth, Texas due to an “ongoing pattern of moral failure” that he recently confessed to the elders, as announced by the church on their website.

The announcement shown above has been removed and replaced by a post directing people to contact church elders with questions.

There was also an event announced on their church Facebook page that was held last night addressing Daniels’ resignation.

David Daniels posted on his Facebook page today that he would be logging off for the next few months. His profile lists his theological education at Denver Seminary and Dallas Theological Seminary. He has been the pastor of Central Bible Church since 2005 and has written several books.

Central Bible Church, formerly known as Pantego Bible Church, voted to change their name to Central Bible Church in 2019. The church was founded in 1906.

In a sermon posted on July 29, 2025, David Daniels preached about Jesus facing false accusations.

David Daniels attended The University of Texas in Austin for his undergraduate degree. There he founded a Christian fraternity Beta Upsilon Chi, BYX. He recently spoke to a group of BYX students on August 1.

Daniels also posted that he would be attending a mission conference in Africa next month.
