It’s a “trailer park” themed party from Jerry Falwell Jr. How many “trailer parks” aka “mobile homes parks” in Lynchburg, Virginia, home to Liberty University, you ask? 13 https://t.co/WFFKPK96fi https://t.co/XjurussM0v

It’s fascinating how “accountability” within the Evangelical community is inverse to one’s power: be a mere student at Liberty, and live under constant supervision. Be the leader, have *none*.

Jerry Falwell Jr. responds to viral Instagram post, says photo of him with his pants zipper down and arm around his wife’s assistant “was just in good fun” https://t.co/rfECR3e3Oz h/t @watchkeep cc: @mstratford @chrislhayes @TylerHuckabee @MeghanMcCain @RobDownenChron @secupp

Not so proud Liberty grad here. I’ve heard him speak way more than I’d like to think about. He’s not a great public speaker but he sounded really off there

Jerry Jr. has demonstrated time and again that he lacks the moral compass that a man truly dedicated to Christ would possess. He is prideful, arrogant, materialistic, and unrepentant whenever he makes an error. The way he treats and speaks of Liberty’s faculty is repugnant.

what?! what he said and did in both that photo and video were not in my view and many others view, in good fun. It was far from it.
— Jessica Ebersole (@Jessicaebersole) August 5, 2020
Perhaps he could explain that to the @LibertyU students who have been fined and punished for much less.

RE: Falwell’s Response to the Photos and Video from the Yacht.
This is a non-answer meant to appease and deflect through good ‘ol boy rhetoric. It is more than worthy of condemnation. https://t.co/HaYqYXGJQl

Re: Jerry Falwell yacht photo.
The impulse is to laugh in disgust/horror at the photo.
But it should actively anger you on behalf of the students who have faced significant consequences on campus for the *same* actions.

And every LU student who is accused of an infraction should use that same excuse – “it was all in good fun”

A 5 year old who throws a tantrum has to promise to be a good boy. A 50 something university president who dyes his beard (badly) and shows off his underwear while posing with a young female is a foul, lecherous cretin who should be fired. “All in good fun”, my asthma.

In the interview with WLNI radio, Jerry Falwell Jr. slurs his words and seems really off. He sounds drunk. He said he apologized to everybody for posting the yacht party photo with his pants unzipped and promised his kids that from here on out he would “try to be a good boy.”
To me, the recent photos reek of underlying sexual addiction problems. Seen it too often from well-known faith leaders…I recognize it. Usually angry & controlling abusers all have a similar M.O. for abusing their power w/ various types of abuse.
